What FSMA Asks For
The FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act requires food manufacturers to keep records of their food safety activities. For small facilities, this usually means tracking temperature monitoring, sanitation, corrective actions, receiving, and more. Most do it on paper — which creates its own problems.
FSMA generally requires records logged at the time of the activity — not filled in later. FoodSafetyLogger timestamps every record automatically at submission.
An inspector may ask for specific records on short notice. A digital log is much faster to search and export than a binder.
If a record is corrected, the original entry should be preserved. FoodSafetyLogger logs every correction with a reason, name, and timestamp.
Every entry in FoodSafetyLogger captures the worker’s name and shift at the time of submission.
What FoodSafetyLogger Provides
FoodSafetyLogger gives your team a simple way to log daily food safety activities — and gives managers a way to review, correct, and export those records. It does not write your food safety plan or tell you what your critical limits should be.
Cooking, cooling, storage, and receiving. Automatic pass/fail. Corrective actions linked to flagged readings.
Who cleaned what, when, with what. Allergen changeover steps documented separately.
Document what went wrong, when, and what was done to address it. Linked back to the original record.
Incoming ingredient lots, supplier names, condition at receiving, temperature if applicable.
Submitted records are locked. Manager edits are logged. Nothing is silently overwritten.
Export any date range. Clean, formatted output with timestamps, worker names, and correction history.
Important
A note on what this app does and doesn’t do. FoodSafetyLogger helps organize food safety records. It does not replace your food safety plan, HACCP plan, PCQI, consultant, attorney, or regulatory obligations. If you have questions about your specific compliance requirements, work with a qualified food safety professional.
